High Speed Imaging
Motion blur is almost impossible to be avoided if the object being captured moves faster than the image sensor frame rate. With RGBIC's patented global shutter pixel and high-speed ADC architecture, our products can capture fast moving objects while maintaining excellent image quality. The sampled image is captured by a high-speed camera with RGBIC A6021 inside, running at 4000fps frame rate with 2x2 on-chip binning mode of 1024x540 resolution.
Global Shutter

Usually, a mechanical shutter is necessary for high-end consumer cameras to get rid of the image distortion when shooting moving objects. However, it is not feasible to implement such a mechanical shutter for industrial applications because of cost, shutter speed and life time. CMOS image sensors with electronic global shutter make it possible to have all pixels capturing the image at exact the same moment, which is ideal for shooting fast moving objects in industrial scenes.

RGBIC's patented global shutter pixel architecture with in-pixel storage nodes makes it possible to have all pixels collecting light at same moment. It also has low noise and very high shutter efficiency, which makes it suitable for machine vision, automotive and logistics, etc.
X-ray Detection

X-ray is electromagnetic radiation with extremely short wavelength and hence ultra-high frequency. Since X-ray is penetrative, it is widely used in medical imaging and industrial inspections.

For an object is being photographed, such as human tissue or other objects to be detected, different levels of absorptions can be obtained because of the differences in material, density and thickness of the object. Hence, the quantity of the X-ray photons that every pixel in the X-ray detector receives are different from each other. The captured images by the detector can show these differences clearly.
High Dynamic Range

The ratio of the maximum and minimum light intensity that can be detected in an image is defined as the dynamic range. High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology is necessary to keep both the bright and dark details in high contrast scenes.

The CMOS image sensors of RGBIC can provide different HDR modes, like pixel gain tuning, dual exposure control and multi-slope HDR to capture high quality images even in extreme light conditions.

Line Scan
When the objects being photographed move underneath the camera, 1D line scan CMOS image sensor has its intrinsic advantages in framerate, sensitivity and cost over 2D area scan CMOS image sensors. Furthermore, imaging resolution can be extremely large in the direction of the object movement.
